With a relentless optimism that would characterize his approach throughout his lifetime, Mr. Sarofim founded Fayez Sarofim & Co. in 1958, to become the largest investment advisory firm in the Southwest. Quietly, patiently, and with a consistent vision anchored in his belief in “betting on people as the most important thing,” early clients included many non-profits, endowments, and foundations that shaped his personal philanthropic vision. The result of his generosity has had a significant, lasting impact on the Houston community and beyond, particularly in education, healthcare and the arts.

Currently, the Foundation’s leadership is solidifying its grantmaking approach to consistently align with Mr. Sarofim’s philanthropic legacy. As one of Houston’s largest philanthropic entities, the Sarofim Foundation Board is honored to build on Mr. Sarofim’s history of investing in our community in powerful, intentional ways.
